While I love going out and about and planning activities for my family, I also enjoy a relaxing, lazy day at home. Especially when it’s so cold outside and inside remains warm and cozy. Ryan is able to work from home in his pajamas most days, so we get to spend quality family time together. Don’t get me wrong, I love having him around. It’s just that…it’s the holiday season, I have boxes of online orders being delivered left and right, and I really need him GONE during those times! This whole “working from home” deal could really take a toll on my online shopping habit! 🙁
Eloise has been sick with a cough and cold for a few days, so we haven’t been able to partake in any holiday community activities yet or get a Christmas tree. We are aiming for next weekend. We are all so excited to cut down our first tree as a family! Prior to owning a home, we lived in Manhattan and grabbed a tree off the sidewalk sellers every year. We shelled out about $75 dollars each time, for a 5ft tree and no “experience” whatsoever! Ryan and I would get in our annual Christmas tree argument each year around the first weekend in December. He didn’t want to spend the money, neither did I, but we HAD to have a tree! And once we had kids, you CANNOT go without a tree, that’s just WRONG! I look forward to posting about our First Annual Hernandez Tree Cutting Trip next week.
In the mean time, we have been relaxing at home with hot chocolate, homemade soups, crockpot roasts, and sourdough bread. I purchased a fresh pine needle garland and pure balsam fir need essential oil for our diffuser and you would never know that we don’t have a tree! It smells amazing over here! Look out for an upcoming post on how you can create a safe and strong pine tree smell in your home too, using pure balsam fir needle essential oil!
